Situated on the edge of Blackheath Village and close to the open expanse of the Heath. Has origins as a 16th century coaching inn but today has a more modern, but tasteful, interior with a restaurant available upstairs called Charlie's Den. Has a spacious outdoor seating area at the front. Holds regular live music and comedy sessions, plus there is a quiz night on Sundays. The semi-circular bar counter facing the front doors has 5 handpumps. Closed for a while in early 2024 for a significant makeover, during which a piano was added for sing-alongs.
