Packed with history: ex-Royal Brewery, Brentford, a former coaching inn that was a favourite watering hole and place of refuge for notorious highwayman John Tibbet and later served as a Masonic meeting place. A spacious, comfortable pub with wood-panelled rooms and log fires. Food is braai. Opens earlier during the Rugby World Cup. Now refurbished. Garden reopened on 12 April 2021. Book via website /reservations Real ale discontinued in 2024 but reinstated by March 2025: a house beer brewed by Heineken and one guest from their limited list.
