A large comfortable landmark pub refurbished in July/Aug 2011. Part of the Sizzling pubs chain. Quiz night every Sunday. The pub is named after General William Roy who made the first accurate land measurement in 1784. This allowed Britain to then create the first Ordnance Survey maps using triangulation. Pub has received an extensive three-week refurbishment in 2023.
