This is a large one room pub in a prominent position in the High Street. The pub has reopened after a complete refurbishment on the 4th Dec 2024. Big Smoke Brew Company in partnership with Shepard Neame now operate this pub and offer beers from both breweries. All cask beers £3.50 every Monday, normally £5/5.50. Two ciders: Lilleys Mango and Kentish Pip on handpump (May 2025) Quiz nights on Sunday from 8pm.

There has been a pub on this site since the fourteenth century. The present building was designed in 1905 and rebuilt in 1931.
