The pub was built in 1848 as the Pelican Tavern. After further name changes over the next 150 years it was taken over by Fuller's and this is now a part-tied house with a drinks focus on cocktails and craft keg beers; plus one or two cask ales.

The mainly young crowd can also enjoy good-value food, with the menu offering weekend brunch and traditional Sunday lunches. But note that alcohol may not be sold until noon on Sundays.

The canal side terrace is a delight the year round, but comes into its own on a warm, sunny day. CAMRA West London branch Pub of the Year 2nd place in 2017. Card only.
