See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

A shop conversion by Hall & Woodhouse dating from the start of the 21st century. Small pub with dark brown decor, alcoves and a lower level seating area, contrasting with most modern conversions. Shaston was the medieval name for Shaftesbury in Dorset, immortalised by Thomas Hardy as shown on the history boards in the pub. Has a cosy “aged” feel with low ceilings, old fireplaces, mirrors, etc. Two narrow corridor-like connecting rooms with booths and separate drinking areas. The muzak has been commented upon unfavourably.
