Situated opposite the entrance to Hayes station, this huge purpose built dining pub is popular for its bar, restaurant and function space within a very handsome and imposing stone building. Since 2010 this has been independently owned and reopened in April 2018 after having been closed for several months for a complete refurbishment. Since then, it has proved to be a smart and popular venue attracting a wide range of clientele of all ages.
The main entrance has the original "Lounge & Smoke Room" engraved into the stone portal. Inside, the interior is spacious with around 10,000 square feet of room. The décor is contemporary to give the atmosphere of light and space. Shades of cream, beige and light grey combine to give a clean and modern look with sparse furnishings and a few framed pictures along with a modern flue heater. The large L-shaped bar with wooden counter is surrounded by high chairs whilst there are assorted tables and seating including some curved benches.
Whilst incorporating a large restaurant, there are separate dining areas with a popular menu. There is a brunch menu served 12 to 4 pm from Monday to Saturday whilst Sunday roasts are served all day (booking advisable).
The upstairs events venue is equally smart and plush, complete with chandeliers, and is available for hire.
There is regular entertainment in the evenings including the house DJ on Fridays. Dress code is smart casual and excludes baseball caps, tracksuits and work clothes. Note the restrictions on children under 5 years of age.
There is a large patio at the rear, paved throughout and leading to an upper level which is also paved with lots of tables and chairs and overlooked by trees. In addition, there are a few tables out front in the car park.
