The pub redevelopment reportedly cost almost £3 million; it has over 4,700 square feet of customer area, set over its ground and first floors plus a first-floor roof terrace (600 square feet). There is an open kitchen and natural daylight from the rather magnificent glazed roof above; the upstairs seating area has windows looking down on the bar and for the less agile, there is a lift to the upstairs. JDW has also retained certain of the old-style shop fronts. On the opening date three regular cask ales (Abbot, Ruddles, Doom Bar) plus six guest ales were reported. And if you do not want to queue at the bar and are tech-savvy, there is an 'app station' with beer wall allowing pours of popular drinks.
