SIDCUP, HANGAR(--individual--), 37 The Oval. Yet another micropub within the branch boundary, making nine in all. This one in a former carpet shop in a large parade of shops. A one roomed house with bare wooden tiled floor with all seating at high tables using wall mounted benches or high stools. The L-shaped bar counter in the corner has 5 keg beer fonts, none of which serve real ale at the moment. 3 Real ales are served on gravity dispense from a rear, cooled cellar room, wines and gins are also on offer. The large windows give a relaxing view over the greenery of The Oval and there is some outdoor seating in the summer. Note, last orders are 30 minutes before the closing time shown.

All the street windows have been uncovered and on the left hand side is a raised area with normal height tables and chairs and a table football table - all with views on to Queens Road. On the right is an area of comfortable armchairs, low tables, an imposing Sago tree, dartboard, bar billiards table and impressive overhead fans. The electronic games and other table games are gratis. The food offer is primarily pizza based but there are one or two extras too. There are 2 handpumps currently selling nationally available real ales. Live music may be introduced as might a more adventurous real ale policy.

SW6, MARKET HALL FULHAM. (Try Market Halls), Fulham Broadway. No real ale. This is one of the new wave of "food halls & bar" now opening across London. The Grade II listed Fulham Broadway old tube station entrance a few yards west of the current entrance, has been sympathetically restored and transformed into an imposing food court, with the bar in the Edwardian ticket office. There are nine food operators including "local favourites and street food stars”. The communal dining area has a capacity of 180. There are six British craft beers on keg draught plus a range of bottles and cans; the intention is to rotate the beers from top UK breweries. Cornish brewer Harbour has created the house lager ‘Market Helles. The venue is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; but note that the licence does not permit sale of alcohol before 10am. There may also be restrictions in place on days when Chelsea Football Club play at home or have a Victory Parade. "Similar sites in Victoria and Oxford Street will open later in 2018.

SW10, FOX & PHEASANT , 1 Billing Road. Now operated by Blunt Trading Ltd. Premises.Under new ownership (so saved from possible redevelopment) and sensitively refurbished and extended during its fifteen month closure, The Fox & Pheasant re-opened in late June 2018, welcoming back drinkers and diners to a quintessentially British and charmingly vibrant country pub on the Chelsea-Fulham border. The two original bars have been restored to their original appearance; an olive tree-filled conservatory (with a retractable roof for summer) has been added at the rear; and, on the second floor, a secluded, wood-panelled private dining room that seats up to 22 has been created. Morland Old Speckled Hen, St Austell Tribute, Truman's Swift available on reopening.

W1, BLACK HORSE (Nicholson's (Mitchells & Butlers)), 6 Rathbone Place. Having closed and sold to property company, ‘London & Central Estates Ltd’ in October 2010 for £1.95 million. The site became a chain burger restaurant which has now run into financial dificulty. It is understood that the American fast-casual restaurant and bar brand Genuine Liquorette will open here later in 2018 so likely to be a cocktail bar.".

W1, NEWMAN ARMS (Shaftesbury), 23 Rathbone Street. After a period of closure for building works to be carried out, this site reopened in May 2018 under Truman's Brewery management, as their first Tap House in London. Truman’s have expanded the pub into the basement and increased the number of draught lines, to offer customers a wider range of beers. This is one of the first pubs in London to install a ‘growler machine’ to fill 910ml cans with any draught beer on site for customers to take away. 4 cask ales plus 12 keg beers. Pies remain a speciality of the house; or if you don't want a pie, try a salt beef or smoked salmon bagel.
